Thank you for your patience. Coming soon to Microsoft Viva: Pulse admins will be able to copy and share links to Pulse templates from the template management page or from the template. For example, as a Pulse admin, I can copy a link for a template I’ve created and share it to all users in my company so they can also use or edit a template to create and send a Pulse. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late October 2024 (previously mid-September) and expect to complete by late November 2024 (previously early October). [How this will affect your organization:] Before this rollout, it is not possible for Pulse admins to copy and share a link to a Pulse template. Users must discover templates for themselves in the Pulse app. If they can find a template created by a Pulse admin, they can use the template. After this rollout, Pulse admins can copy template links from the Template management section on the Customize templates and questions page or from the template and share it to all users. Users who open a shared template link will go to the customization page for that template.

| Power Automate – Include cloud connectors to desktop flows through the Assets libraryCategory:Microsoft Power AutomateNummer:MC906473Status:stayInformed | We are announcing the inclusion of cloud connectors in desktop flows through the Assets library for Power Automate for desktop. Several dozen cloud connectors will become available in preview during October, with more being released in November as generally available. Direct integration of Power Platform connectors into desktop actions will streamline the flow creation process, reduce logical loops, enhance efficiency and provide direct integration with third party applications. How does this affect me? This enhancement will reduce logical loops, minimize flow creation time, and will ensure all action capabilities are fully supported for Power Platform connectors. What do I need to do to prepare? Prepare for this upcoming feature by reviewing the Assets library in Power Automate and the Cloud Connectors in Power Automate for desktop documentation. |
| Microsoft Defender XDR: InitiatingProcessFolderPath changes to include file namesCategory:Microsoft Defender XDRNummer:MC906487Status:planForChange | Coming soon: Microsoft Defender for Endpoint will modify the InitiatingProcessFolderPath column across all relevant Advanced Hunting tables to include the initiating process file name. This message applies to Windows activity only. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide): We will roll out to all Microsoft Defender for Endpoint customers on November 4, 2024. [How this will affect your organization:] Before this rollout, the InitiatingProcessFolderPath column is inconsistent across action types. Some columns include the file name, and other columns do not include the file name. After the rollout, all Microsoft Defender for Endpoint action types across all tables will report the full path including the file name of the initiating process in the InitiatingProcessFolderPath column. Consider the following example to be the new normal, InitiatingProcessFolderPath == c:\temp\file.exe An example of a possible current implementation that will be retired with this change: InitiatingProcessFolderPath == c:\temp\ Custom detection rules and queries considering the InitiatingProcessFolderPath may be affected. If you know your custom detection rules or Advanced Hunting queries include this column, please modify them to consider the new convention:

[What you need to do to prepare:] Before November 4, 2024, map your affected custom detection rules and KQL functions and prepare a fix. | Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Microsoft Secure Score recommendation update for Spam confidence levelCategory:Microsoft Defender XDRNummer:MC906488Status:planForChange | Before this rollout: Microsoft Defender for Office 365 | Microsoft Secure Score triggers the recommendation Ensure Spam confidence level (SCL) is configured in mail transport rules with specific domains in organizations with transport rules that use condition on sender domains even when not explicitly using SetSCL. The intent of the recommendation is to only flag rules that bypass spam filtering by setting SCL to -1. After this rollout, this recommendation will only appear if the organization has transport rule specifically set SCL to -1. The recommendation will not appear when using rules that do not set SCL (where SCL is null). [When this will happen:]General Availability (Worldwide, GCC): We will begin rolling out early November 2024 and expect to complete by early December 2024. [How this will affect your organization:] After this rollout, the Secure Score for your organization should be automatically fixed. For some organizations, the rollout may result in a slight increase in the Secure Score because the recommendation might not be generated. Click path: Go to Defender > Exposure management > Secure Score > Recommended actions > Ensure Spam confidence level (SCL) is configured in mail transport rules with specific domains This change is on by default. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, DoD): We will begin rolling out late October 2024 and expect to complete by late November 2024. [How this will affect your organization:] Before this rollout: When previewing a file in the OneDrive and SharePoint file viewer, users can see the presence of other users who have the file open. This behavior will not change by default. After this rollout, if desired, SharePoint admins can use the SharePoint Online Management Shell to disable the presence feature for a given site collection. This can be done by updating to the latest version of the SharePoint Online Management Shell and running By default, this feature is available for admins to configure. [When will this happen:] Early Preview (limited slots only): We will begin rolling out from early October 2024 and complete by mid-November 2024. Targeted Release: We will begin rollout in mid-November 2024 and expect to complete by end of December 2024. [What you need to do to prepare:] If you would like to try out the preview of new connectors, sign-up for preview. The form to sign up is available in our documentation page (hyperlinks available in list above). Alternatively, you may drop us an email with the connectors you wish to preview at [email protected]. Our team will reach out to you to discuss your requirements and will share relevant documentation and next steps. Please note that slots are limited, and we may not be able to accommodate all customers during preview.

The October 2024 security update is the last update available for these editions. After today, devices running these editions will no longer receive monthly security and preview updates containing protections from the latest security threats. To help keep you protected and productive, Windows Update will automatically initiate a feature update for Windows 11 Home and Pro devices that are not managed by IT departments when these are nearing end of servicing. Moving to the latest version of Windows 11 keeps your device supported and receiving monthly updates that are critical to security and ecosystem health.
