(Updated) Clipchamp introduces AI-powered video creation with Clipchamp Copilot for work
Category:Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365)
Nummer:MC1024396
Status:planForChange

Updated March 10, 2025: We have updated the content. Thank you for your patience.

Clipchamp now offers an AI-powered video creation feature through Clipchamp Copilot for work. Simply type your prompt, and Clipchamp will generate a bespoke script, source high-quality stock footage, and assemble a video project complete with music, voiceover, text overlays, and transitions. This provides you with a first draft, which you can edit in the app. You can then export the video to mp4, which will be saved in OneDrive and count towards your OneDrive quota, ready for sharing. This feature is ideal for creating informational videos, video messaging, how-to guides, demos, and video presentations. Available on the Microsoft 365 Copilot plan.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 471441.

Video creator limitations

The video creation skill does not generate new video clips, animations, images, or audio. We use content in existing Microsoft 365 asset libraries to bring your video to life. Once the script is generated, we select the most appropriate audio and imagery available in our asset libraries to complement both the content and the style of your video. You can edit the video to update the script, replace the selected media, or extend the video with new content.

[When this will happen:]

  • Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out in mid-April 2025 and expect to complete by late-April 2025.
  • General Availability: We will begin rolling out in late-April 2025 and expect to complete by mid-May 2025.

[How this will affect your organization:]

Controlling access to your videos: The video creation skill will generate a Clipchamp video project within the user’s OneDrive (inside a Videos/Clipchamp folder). For more information about Clipchamp, visit our Clipchamp Adoption page, or the Get Started page on our support site.”

Managing access to video creation: This feature is only available for users who have the Microsoft 365 Copilot plan and will not be an upsell offering to other customers. There are no admin controls provided specifically for this feature. The feature only appears when users open a new blank project in Clipchamp.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

Inform your team about the new feature and help us improve it by providing feedback. In addition to existing support and feedback mechanisms, users can provide quick feedback by clicking the thumbs-up or thumbs-down icon below their video. Clicking these icons will open the feedback dialog and allow users to enter comments and (optionally) include a screenshot or prompt information.

(Updated) Multiple Yammer Networks Within Single Tenant No Longer Supported (1:Many Mode)
Category:Microsoft Viva
Nummer:MC454504
Status:planForChange

Updated March 10, 2025: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

Yammer is committed to strengthening the alignment of Yammer to Microsoft 365. This means we will no longer support tenants having more than one non-external Yammer network. This change will ensure Yammer networks have the same organizational boundaries as their corresponding Microsoft 365 tenants.

Why is this happening now?

Integrating Yammer more fully into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem has been a multi-year effort. New 1:many configurations have not been permitted since October 2018. All new Yammer networks provisioned after January 2020 have been created in Native Mode. In September 2022, the enforcement of Native Mode was announced. Automated network consolidation is an important prerequisite to reaching Native Mode and gaining access to broader safety, security, and compliance features.

[When this will happen:]

Starting on May 1, 2023 and continuing through mid-March 2025 (previously early March). You are welcome to initiate network consolidation on your own at any time before or after May 1, 2023.

[How this will affect your organization:]

With automated network consolidation, you will lose access to all your secondary Yammer networks. Users from your secondary Yammer networks will be migrated to your primary network, but groups and data will be lost. In advance of this change, we strongly recommend that customers perform a full data export of their networks. You can read more about exporting data from your network here.

It is strongly advised that customers perform this network consolidation themselves. This will allow you to choose the time of the consolidation and allow the administrator to choose which primary domain will be associated with the remaining network.

There are Microsoft partners that can help you migrate data from your secondary networks. Please reach out to your Microsoft Account Team or contact a partner for more information.

Post-consolidation of the networks into 1:1 alignment with Microsoft 365, they will be upgraded to Native Mode. This provides access to the latest features in Yammer and ensures that Yammer and Viva Engage content is included in Microsoft Purview’s compliance and security features.

You can read more about our plans to ensure alignment to Native Mode here.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

If you would like to self-initiate your network consolidation:

  • There is a guide to network consolidation available to walk you through the process. A network administrator can run the network migration tool from within Yammer.

If you would like Microsoft to initiate your network consolidation:

  • You are not required to take any action. Microsoft will notify you via the M365 Message Center of your scheduled consolidation date and default primary network and domain. The network with the highest total message count will be the default primary network.
  • If you would like a different default primary network, contact Microsoft 365 support to log an exception.

If you need to postpone or schedule network consolidation around blackout dates:

  • Contact Microsoft 365 support to log an exception.

Microsoft Purview | Information Protection: SharePoint Online library permissions extend to downloaded files
Category:Microsoft 365 suite Microsoft Purview
Nummer:MC937935
Status:planForChange

Updated March 10, 2025: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

We are providing this update because your tenant is utilizing sensitivity labels and Microsoft SharePoint Online.

Coming soon: A new capability that ties together SharePoint Online library permissions and Purview sensitivity labeling and protection. We are happy to bring this capability to Public Preview. This is an opt-in feature in Microsoft PowerShell.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 467254.

[When this will happen:]

Public Preview: We will begin rolling out mid-November 2024 and expect to complete by mid-January 2025.

General Availability (Worldwide, GCC): We will begin rolling out late June 2025 and expect to complete by late July 2025.

General Availability (GCCHigh, DoD): We will begin rolling out early August 2025 and expect to complete by late August 2025.

[How this will affect your organization:]

After this rollout, SharePoint Online document library owners will be able to apply a sensitivity label at the library level, automatically applying that label to all unprotected and unlabeled files (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and PDFs) in the target library. This simplifies labeling in bulk across document libraries in an organization. This capability also helps protect files as they egress from the original document library, such as for collaboration purposes or attempted exfiltration. Files downloaded from these libraries are protected at download. Users accessing these files outside of SharePoint Online have their rights evaluated in real time against the document library. Changes to user permissions on the document library are reflected on downloaded files, including full revocation for users removed from the document library. This provides a more streamlined way to revoke access to documents for individual users (instead of revoking access to each document).

Learn more about how to use this feature and its capabilities, limitations, and licensing: Configure SharePoint with a sensitivity label to extend permissions to downloaded documents | Microsoft Learn

[What you need to do to prepare:]

After this feature is available, we recommend you test this feature first on sites with non-production data to understand its capabilities.

This rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before the rollout. Review the referenced documentation links to learn more about enabling this feature.

(Updated) Microsoft 365 Copilot: Select Microsoft SharePoint sites when writing prompts
Category:Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365)
Nummer:MC973505
Status:stayInformed

Updated March 10, 2025: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

Coming soon for Microsoft 365 Copilot: When writing Copilot prompts in the chat box, users will be able to use CIQ to search for and select Microsoft SharePoint sites.

Context IQ (CIQ) is a set of AI capabilities from Microsoft that allows users to search for, select, and insert relevant enterprise or personal data directly into their prompts or conversations. This capability helps users to “ground” or anchor their prompts in specific, contextually relevant data, making responses more accurate, specific, and useful.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 413110.

A Microsoft 365 Copilot license is required to use this feature.

[When this will happen:]

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out mid-April 2025 (previously late March) and expect to complete by late April 2025 (previously early April).

[How this will affect your organization:]

No impact to tenant admins. This change is available by default. Users will begin seeing their recent SharePoint sites in CIQ (only the sites they have access to) when writing Copilot prompts.

user controls

[What you need to do to prepare:]

This rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before or after the rollout. Review your current configuration to determine the impact for your organization. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation.
