| (Updated) Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management: Policy tuning analysis for priority content only policiesCategory:Microsoft PurviewNummer:MC1059679Status:stayInformed | Updated September 3, 2025: the rollout has been postponed for GCC, GCCHigh, and DoD environments to a later date. We apologize for any inconvenience. In Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management (IRM), policy tuning analysis provides admins with a real-time prediction of the number of users in a tenant that could potentially match a given set of policy conditions. After this rollout, policy tuning analysis will support insider risk policies that are scoped for priority content. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 378409. This message is associated with MC786326 (about the preview for this feature that started in May 2024). [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late June 2025 (previously mid-June) and expect to complete by late August 2025 (previously late July). General Availability (GCC, GCCHigh, DoD): We will communicate via Message center when we are ready to proceed. [How this will affect your organization:] After this rollout, admins can use real-time analytics for policies scoped for priority content to help predict the number of users that could potentially match a given set of policy conditions. This feature enables admins to quickly adjust the selection of indicators and thresholds of activity occurrence so they can efficiently translate their insider risk strategies into pragmatic controls and keep from having too few or too many alerts. 1. In IRM, Navigate to Settings > Insider Risk Management > Analytics, turn on Analytics, and then select Save.
2. Create/edit a policy scoped to all users in the organization. 3. When you get to Content to prioritize in the policy wizard, select the priority content types you want to prioritize:
4. Select the items for each priority content type as applicable. 5. On the scoring page, select Get alerts only for activity that includes priority content:
6. Configure the rest of the policy as applicable and save it. 7. 1-2 days after the policy is saved, edit the policy again and navigate to the indicator thresholds page where insights on user activity containing the scoped priority content for each indicator will be visible under Choose your own thresholds:
[What you need to do to prepare:] This rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before the rollout. Review your current configuration to determine the impact for your organization. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation. This change will be available by default for admins to configure. To use this feature, admins will need to enable Analytics in Insider risk management > Settings. After Analytics is enabled and insights are populated, admins will be able to see real-time predictions in policies scoped to all users/groups and scored only for priority content. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy. You can access the Insider Risk Management solution in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal. Learn more: Configure policy indicators in insider risk management | Microsoft Learn | ||||||||||

| New policy to add watermarks to content generated or altered by using AI in Microsoft 365Category:Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365) Microsoft 365 Copilot ChatNummer:MC1221451Status:stayInformed | [Introduction] To help provide additional transparency about what content has been generated or altered by using AI in Microsoft 365, Microsoft is providing you with a policy setting that visually designates when content, such as video or audio content, is generated or altered by using AI. This policy setting controls your organization’s option to add a visual or audio watermark to video and audio content that your users generate or alter by using AI in Microsoft 365.
To turn on watermarks for video and audio content that your users generate or alter by using AI in Microsoft 365, you need to use the “Include a watermark when content from Microsoft 365 is generated or altered by AI” policy. This policy is available only in Cloud Policy service for Microsoft 365. Note: Watermarks are not turned on unless you set the policy to Enabled. Your organization is always responsible for following the Microsoft Enterprise AI Services Code of Conduct, including not generating or sharing deceptive AI content. This change is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID: 547831. [When this will happen] General Availability (Worldwide): We anticipate that this policy will be available in Cloud Policy by the second half of February 2026. [How this will affect your organization] Who is affectedUsers that generate or alter video and audio content by using AI in Microsoft 365 What will happen If you set the “Include a watermark when content from Microsoft 365 is generated or altered by AI” policy to Enabled in Cloud Policy, a visual or audio watermark is added to video and audio content that is generated or altered by using AI in Microsoft 365. | Microsoft Purview | eDiscovery – Advanced review set explorerCategory:Microsoft PurviewNummer:MC1221453Status:stayInformed | [Introduction] We’re introducing the Advanced Review Set Explorer (public preview) for review sets in Microsoft Purview eDiscovery (Premium). eDiscovery has long supported Keyword Query Language (KeyQL) because it provides a familiar, approachable, and powerful way to search and filter content—while working consistently across both search and review experiences. For many users and workflows, KeyQL remains the recommended and most efficient way to build queries. At the same time, we understand that power users and advanced reviewers often need greater flexibility to slice, aggregate, and analyze review set data in more sophisticated ways. To meet this need, we’re adding a Kusto Query Language (KQL)–based experience to review sets through the Advanced Review Set Explorer. With this update, reviewers will have two query options:

| Microsoft Defender for Android ending support for enrolled personal profilesCategory:Microsoft Intune Microsoft Defender XDRNummer:MC1221927Status:planForChange | [Introduction] By the end of March 2026, Microsoft Defender for Android will no longer support protection of personal profiles on enrolled devices. This change aligns with our enterprise-first security strategy, ensuring resources are focused on protecting corporate data while maintaining user privacy. [When will this happen] Rollout will begin in mid-March 2026 and complete by late March 2026. [How this affects your organization] Who is affected: Organizations using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) on Android in personal profiles on enrolled devices that are managed through mobile device management (MDM) configuration policies. What’s changing: We’re ending support, monitoring, and feature development for protecting personal profiles on enrolled devices (personal profiles managed via MDM configuration policy). Our main objective is to safeguard corporate assets, with emphasis on identity and data contained within the work profile in enrolled environments. We rely on Android’s platform-level separation to ensure robust isolation. Current research indicates that the likelihood of cross-profile attacks compromising enterprise data remains minimal at present. Current State: Defender can be enrolled in the personal profile and managed through MDM configuration policies along with controlling work profile configuration (App Configuration policies targeted to managed devices). Reference link: Deploy Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on Android with Microsoft Intune New State: Deploying and managing Defender in personal profile on enrolled devices via MDM policies will be retired by the end of March 2026. Defender in work profile on enrolled devices and unenrolled mobile application management (MAM)-enabled devices remains unchanged. Reference link: Configure Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on Android risk signals using App Protection Policies (MAM) Benefits of the Change: This update enhances our enterprise-focused strategy by providing more efficient and dependable protection for corporate data. It safeguards user privacy and ensures that Defender exclusively protects corporate assets, maintaining the integrity of personal information in accordance with privacy regulations and platform separation requirements.
