[Introduction]

Microsoft is introducing Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat within Microsoft Forms, along with a new Forms Agent integration tailored to help creators design, distribute, and analyze forms more effectively. (Updated) Microsoft 365 Copilot: Ground Chat in SharePoint Lists using Context IQ
Category:Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365)
Nummer:MC1235746
Status:stayInformed

Updated May 22, 2026: We have updated the timeline. Thank you for your patience.

[Introduction]

Microsoft is enhancing Microsoft 365 Copilot by allowing users to search for, select, and insert SharePoint Lists directly into their prompts in Copilot Chat to ground their conversations. When writing Copilot prompts in the chat box, users will be able to search for and select SharePoint Lists from Context IQ by either typing forward slash “/” or selecting Add work content from the Plus menu (+). This helps ground prompts in contextually relevant data, improving the accuracy and usefulness of Copilot responses.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 422308.

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late March 2026 and expect to complete by early June 2026 (previously early April).

[How this affects your organization:]

Who is affected:

  • All users of Microsoft 365 Copilot with access to SharePoint Lists.
  • A Microsoft 365 Copilot license is required to use this feature.

What will happen:

  • Users will begin seeing their recent SharePoint Lists in Context IQ under the Sites tab by either typing forward slash “/” or selecting Add work content from the Plus menu (+) when writing prompts in chat.
  • user settings

  • Only Lists the user has access to will be surfaced.
  • This feature is enabled by default.
  • No impact to tenant admins or existing configurations.

[What you can do to prepare:]

No admin action is required before or after rollout.

However, you may want to:

  • Notify users about this change.
  • Update internal documentation if you reference Copilot or Context IQ capabilities

[Compliance considerations]

Question Answer
Does the change introduce or significantly modify AI/ML or agent capabilities that interact with or provide access to customer data? Context IQ extends Microsoft Copilot’s AI-assisted prompt creation by allowing users to search for and reference SharePoint Lists they already have access to. The AI uses user-selected lists to ground responses and does not expand data access beyond existing permissions.
Does the change provide end users any new way of interacting with generative AI? Users can directly search for and insert SharePoint Lists into Copilot prompts through Context IQ, enabling a new, more structured way to guide generative AI using enterprise data.
(Updated) Microsoft 365 Copilot: Schedule prompts in Agent Builder

Nummer:MC1302906
Status:stayInformed

Updated May 22, 2026: We have paused rollout of this feature at this time. We will communicate via Message center when we are ready to proceed. Thank you for your patience.

[Introduction]

We’re introducing the ability to create workflows that schedule prompts in Agent Builder in Microsoft 365 Copilot. This new capability allows users to schedule prompts that run automatically on a defined cadence, such as hourly, daily, or weekly. Based on customer feedback requesting more automation and proactive insights, workflows help users reduce manual prompting and automate routine tasks using their Copilot agents.

[When this will happen]

  • General Availability (Worldwide): We will communicate via Message center when we are ready to proceed.

[How this affects your organization]

Who is affected

  • Users who create and manage agents using Agent Builder in Microsoft 365 Copilot (Premium)

What will happen

  • Users will be able to create scheduled workflows for agents.
  • Scheduled workflows include:
    • Prompt text
    • Triggers and recurrence patterns
    • Date, time, and time zone settings
  • Supported recurrence patterns:
    • Hourly
    • Daily
    • Weekly
    • Monthly
    • Yearly
  • Workflows are configured per user and run only for the user who created them.
  • Workflows are not shared when an agent is shared with others.
  • Scheduled workflows will not run for draft or unpublished agents.
  • Users can view, edit, preview, and delete workflows within Agent Builder.
  • This feature is enabled by default and respects existing tenant and Copilot policies.

QuestionAnswer
Does this change alter how existing customer data is processed, stored, or accessed?Yes. Existing customer data may be processed automatically based on a time-based trigger rather than direct user initiation. The scope of data access remains unchanged and follows existing permissions.
Does this change introduce or significantly modify AI, ML, or agent capabilities that interact with customer data?Yes. This change introduces a new agent capability that allows Copilot agents to run prompts automatically on a defined schedule, instead of only responding to manual prompts.
Does this change provide a new way for users to interact with generative AI?Yes. Users can now interact with generative AI asynchronously through scheduled workflows that execute prompts on their behalf.
Can users enable or disable this feature themselves?Yes. Users can create, edit, disable, or delete scheduled workflows for their agents at any time.

SharePoint Online: Storage quota enforcement updated to align with license limits
Category:SharePoint Online
Nummer:MC1310684
Status:preventOrFixIssue

Updated May 22, 2026: We have updated the content, adding a link to the script. Thank you for your patience.

[Introduction]

We’re updating the way SharePoint Online enforces user storage quotas to ensure they are consistently aligned with license entitlements. This change fixes an issue where user-specific storage limits could be incorrectly applied during quota refreshes, which could result in inaccurate storage enforcement. These updates help ensure predictable storage behavior and improve reliability for admins managing storage at scale.

[When this will happen]

General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCCH, and DoD): We will begin rolling out in late May 2026 and expect to complete in June 2026.

[How this affects your organization]

Who is affected

  • Microsoft 365 tenants using SharePoint Online
  • Users who are currently over the OneDrive for Business storage quota allowed by their assigned license
  • Admins who have set user-specific storage limits above licensed entitlements

What will happen

  • User storage quotas will be re-evaluated against license limits during the refresh process.
  • Users whose OneDrive for Business storage usage exceeds their licensed quota will be placed into a read-only state, which temporarily restricts write access to existing SharePoint content until storage usage is remediated.
  • This includes scenarios where:
    • An admin-set user quota exceeds the license allowance, or
    • A user with an EDU license exceeds their licensed storage limit.
  • No changes are made for users who are within their licensed storage limits.

[What you can do to prepare]

  • Identify users exceeding licensed storage limits
  • Take corrective action for affected users. For users exceeding their licensed storage limits:
    • Upgrade the user’s license to increase available storage, or
    • Work with the user to reduce storage usage to within licensed limits.
  • Inform your helpdesk and SharePoint admins about this change so they can support users who may be placed into a read-only state.
  • If all users are within their licensed storage quotas, no action is required.

Take action: Mitigation guidance updated with a new script for CVE 2026 45585
Category:Windows
Nummer:MC1318295
Status:preventOrFixIssue
Microsoft has updated the mitigation guidance in CVE-2026-45585, a Windows BitLocker security feature bypass vulnerability. The updated guidance replaces previously documented manual mitigation steps with a script that helps reduce exposure while a future security update is developed to address this vulnerability. Note that a limited set of Windows versions are affected: Windows 11, versions 26H1, 25H2, and 24H2, and Windows Server 2025.

When will this happen:
The updated mitigation guidance and script are available now.

How this will affect your organization:
Windows devices that use BitLocker may be exposed to this vulnerability if mitigations are not applied. Organizational environments that previously implemented the documented manual mitigation steps do not need to take additional action, as the script only simplifies deployment of the existing mitigation.

Organizations that have not yet taken action should assess their exposure to this vulnerability and determine whether mitigation is appropriate. Microsoft recommends that organizations consider implementing this mitigation if devices and data may be at risk of being compromised or stolen. For example, this may apply if your organization’s employees take their work devices home or on business travel.

What you need to do to prepare:
Organizational environments using BitLocker on affected Windows versions should review the updated guidance in the Microsoft Security Update Guide to determine whether applying the mitigation is necessary.
