Transitioning from user’s OneDrive to SharePoint for Whiteboards created in Teams ChannelsCategory:Microsoft TeamsNummer:MC1024395Status:planForChange | We are updating the storage location for Whiteboards created from the Teams Channel Tab App. Previously, these whiteboards were saved on the initiator’s OneDrive, which caused access issues due to sharing settings, information barriers, or conditional access policies. To resolve these issues and align with the behavior of other M365 apps, whiteboards initiated from the Teams Channel Tab App will now be stored in the corresponding SharePoint site of the Teams Channel (also known as the channel site). This change ensures seamless access for all channel members while adhering to set policies. [When this will happen:] We will begin rolling out in early April 2025 and expect to complete by late April 2025. [How this affects your organization:] This update will allow whiteboard files to work seamlessly for all channel members, ensuring they continue to adhere to the set policies. All channel members who have access to these whiteboards will be able to discover them from their board picker. Simply type your prompt, and Clipchamp will generate a bespoke script, source high-quality stock footage, and assemble a video project complete with music, voiceover, text overlays, and transitions. This provides you with a first draft, which you can edit in the app. You can then export the video to mp4, which will be saved in OneDrive and count towards your OneDrive quota, ready for sharing. Microsoft Exchange Online: New limit for dynamic distribution groups (DDGs)Category:Exchange OnlineNummer:MC1024399Status:planForChange | We will soon introduce a new limit on dynamic distribution groups (DDGs) in Microsoft Exchange Online. Each organization will be limited to a maximum of 3,000 DDGs. After this limit is reached, admins will need to remove existing DDGs before creating new ones. Before rollout, we will update this post with new documentation. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide, GCC): We will begin enforcing this limit in early April 2025. [How this will affect your organization:] If your organization has fewer than 3,000 DDGs, this change will not impact you. However, after your organization reaches this limit, you will not be able to create new DDGs until some existing DDGs are removed. This change will be on by default and cannot be turned off by admins. [What you need to do to prepare:] The enforcement of the DDG limit will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before the rollout. Microsoft Entra: Browser access will be enabled by default for all Android usersCategory:Microsoft EntraNummer:MC1024404Status:planForChange | If your organization does not support Android devices, you can safely ignore this message. As part of our overall security hardening efforts, we will migrate Microsoft Entra ID device registration to be hardware-bound. Since the device identity will be hardware-bound, we will retire the ability for users to enable a feature called Enable Browser Access (EBA) in the Microsoft Authenticator app and the Microsoft Company Portal app for Android. After this retirement, browser access will automatically be enabled as part of device registration. Connecting Templafy to Microsoft 365 Copilot in PowerPoint: After this rollout: As an admin, after you connect your asset library hosted by Templafy to Microsoft 365 and Microsoft 365 Copilot, your users will be able to create presentations with your organization’s images. Users will have a toggle to use branded images from your organization’s library in Templafy and/or Microsoft 365 images. To use your brand images with Microsoft 365 Copilot, you will need to:
To use brand images in PowerPoint, users can select the Copilot icon in the top left of any slide and choose Create a new presentation:
On the next screen, users enter a prompt to ask Copilot to build the slide outline. After Copilot responds, users can scroll down to Image settings: Only use images from my organization and turn on the toggle to access the images from the OAL or Templafy. The message next to the toggle says, “Images from your organization will be used when turned on. When off, images from both Microsoft 365 and your organization will be used”:
The new features will be available by default for admins to configure for their users. With this rollout, Copilot will first use images from your organization library before using Microsoft 365 images as backup. Users have the option to use only on-brand images by turning on the image settings. However, if you do not wish for Copilot to use any Microsoft 365 images when creating a presentation, send an email to [email protected]. NOTE: Disabling all Microsoft 365 images will severely impact the Copilot output for creating presentations. Users can tap the summary icon on the file and get a summary generated by AI. Now users can consume and comprehend the content without reading the entire document on a small mobile screen. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late January 2025 (previously mid-January) and expect to complete by mid-March 2025 (late February). [How this will affect your organization:] All Word, PPT, and PDF files shared in chat and channels in the Teams mobile app will have an AI summary icon in the file chiclet. Users can tap the summary icon on the file chiclet to view the summary generated by AI. With this feature, users can consume and comprehend the content without reading the entire document.
