Prevent/Fix (Planned) – Search by Meeting ID in Call Quality Dashboard
Category:Microsoft Teams
Nummer:MC1228315
Status:planForChange

[Introduction]

Beginning in March 2026, you may encounter issues in Call Quality Dashboard (CQD) when searching by Meeting ID. CQD is changing the Meeting ID value to match the numeric Meeting ID found in Teams meeting invites. The previous value used for Meeting ID in CQD will now be found in a separate dimension named Thread ID

[When this will happen:]

This change will take place starting mid-March 2026.

[How this affects your organization:]

Who is affected:

  • Microsoft 365 administrators and IT staff who use CQD.
  • Organizations that search for meetings in CQD using Meeting ID.

What will happen:

  • CQD will change the Meeting ID value to match the numeric Meeting ID shown in Teams meeting invites.
  • The previous Meeting ID value will no longer appear under the Meeting ID dimension.
  • The previous value will be available in a new dimension named Thread ID.
  • Existing CQD reports or queries that rely on the old Meeting ID may no longer return expected results unless updated.

[What you can do to prepare:]

  • Update CQD queries and reports to use the numeric Meeting ID from Teams meeting invites.
  • If needed, update reports to use the Thread ID dimension for the previous Meeting ID value.
  • Notify helpdesk and support teams about this change.
  • Update internal documentation and training materials related to CQD reporting.

(Public Preview) New built in alert tuning rules for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint in Microsoft Defender XDR
Category:Microsoft Defender XDR
Nummer:MC1228325
Status:stayInformed

[Introduction]

Microsoft Defender XDR is adding six new Microsoft-curated built-in alert tuning rules for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) to help reduce low-priority endpoint alerts reaching your queues.

[When this will happen:]

  • February 8, 2026: Rules become visible in the portal (Preview) for review.
  • February 8–February 18, 2026: Rules are visible but not active, so you can review and opt out if needed.
  • February 18, 2026: Rules become active by default.

[How this affects your organization:]

Who is affected: Admins using Microsoft Defender XDR with MDE.

What will happen:

  • With the default experience, you should see fewer informational or low severity endpoint alerts in your incident/alert queues, because matching alerts will be handled automatically.
  • Some rules use Resolve and others use Set as Behavior, which reclassifies an alert as a behavior record. These alerts will not appear in open alert queues. They also will not generate incidents, while still remaining available for investigation and hunting.
  • You stay in control: all built in rules are visible in Settings > Microsoft Defender XDR > Alert Tuning, and you can disable any rule anytime.

[What you can do to prepare:]

  • No action required if you want the default experience.
  • To opt out, review and disable any of the new MDE rules during February 8–February 18, 2026 (you can still disable later, but the rules will be on by default starting February 18, 2026).
  • If you manage multiple tenants, you can manage rule enablement at scale using Multi-Tenant Organization (MTO) content distribution.

(Updated) Resolved: Power outage affecting Microsoft Store app installs and Windows update delivery
    Category:Windows
    Nummer:MC1228782
    Status:stayInformed
11:30 am PT update: Microsoft Store and Windows Update services have been restored. Some IT administrators may continue to experience residual latency affecting Windows Server update operations, including the Windows Server sync API. This Server‑specific issue is being addressed separately. If you experience this latency, please contact Microsoft Support for business.

8:34 am PT post: A power outage at a datacenter is impacting customers’ ability to complete operations in the Microsoft Store and Windows Update. As a result, some users may experience failures or timeouts when installing or updating Microsoft Store apps, or when downloading Windows updates.

Although power has been restored, service recovery is still in progress. Storage services are gradually returning online, and some customer impact may continue while recovery completes.

Microsoft is actively working to restore full-service reliability. Customers who are affected are advised to retry Microsoft Store and Windows Update operations later. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
