(Updated) Microsoft Copilot: File summary in Microsoft Teams chatCategory:Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365)Nummer:MC1003344Status:stayInformed | Updated March 12, 2025: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience. Users will be able to summarize files with Summarize for me using Microsoft Copilot within one-on-one or group Microsoft Teams chats. This feature will work on common file types like Word and PDF initially, and other file formats will be added over time. This summarization respects the file’s security policies, ensuring that only users with access to the file receive a summary, which will carry the same sensitivity label as the original file. A Microsoft 365 Copilot license is required to use this feature. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 418564. [When this will happen:] Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out early May 2025 and expect to complete by mid-May 2025. General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out mid-May 2025 and expect to complete by late May 2025. General Availability (GCC): We will begin rolling out mid-May 2025 and expect to complete by mid-June 2025. [How this will affect your organization:] Users will be able to summarize files with Summarize for me in Copilot within Teams chats. This feature will be available by default. [What you need to do to prepare:] This rollout will happen automatically with no admin action required. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate. |
Reminder: “Require approved client app” control in Microsoft Entra Conditional Access will be retired in March 2026Category:Microsoft IntuneNummer:MC1029989Status:planForChange | As mentioned in MC540749, in March 2026, Microsoft Entra ID (formerly known as Azure Active Directory) and Microsoft Intune will retire the Conditional Access “Require approved client app” grant control. Instead we recommend utilizing the “Require application protection policy” grant control, which provides the same data loss and protection with additional benefits. [How this will affect your organization:] If you have a Conditional Access policy with “Require approved client app” grant control configured, after this change, you will no longer be able to enforce this control, it will be as if this grant is not selected. [What you need to do to prepare:] We recommend updating your Conditional Access policy to using the “Require application protection policy” grant control. For more information, see Migrate approved client app to application protection policy in Conditional Access. |

Microsoft Bookings: New Queue functionality to manage appointments for Teams Premium usersCategory:Microsoft BookingsNummer:MC1030013Status:stayInformed | Microsoft Bookings is an online scheduling tool (included in your Microsoft 365 subscription) that enables businesses to manage their appointments seamlessly. Bookings allows users to create customizable booking pages where customers, clients, or colleagues can easily schedule time with them or their team without the usual back-and-forth communication. Coming soon: We will launch Queue as a new functionality in Bookings. Queue will be available in Bookings for users with a Microsoft Teams Premium license. Queue is a powerful feature that provides real-time visibility and control over incoming appointments. Queue provides schedulers and admins with a consolidated view of each day’s appointments in chronological order for the booking pages they manage, so they can better manage the load of incoming appointments and reassign delayed appointments to available staff. Staff can also self-serve on busy days by assigning the unassigned appointments to themselves, helping to balance workloads across teams or specific services. Users can send SMS and email reminders from the queue view and keep customers informed, helping to enhance overall transparency and ensure a smooth appointment experience for everyone involved. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 470136. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out mid-April 2025 and expect to complete by late April 2025. Power Platform – Upcoming enforcement of tenant isolationCategory:Power PlatformNummer:MC1031090Status:stayInformed | As part of our Secure by Default initiative, the tenant isolation feature will be enabled by default for all Power Platform tenants as the new default behavior. The enforcement is scheduled to begin in May 2025. This feature applies only to Power Platform policies and is separate from guest access policies and Azure tenant restriction features. How does this affect me? Tenant isolation only applies to connectors running within a tenant. The default tenant isolation behavior will block all connection attempts from one tenant to another; inbound (connections to the tenant from external tenants), outbound (connections from the tenant to external tenants), or both (inbound – outbound) will be blocked by Power Platform. Communications within the same tenant will not be affected. In addition, users logging in as guests (guest user access) will remain unaffected. To prevent any disruptions, if our traffic monitoring logs indicate cross-tenant connections involving your tenant, we will proactively set up the necessary policies for you before the enforcement. What do I need to do to prepare? This message is for awareness and no action is required. |
