Microsoft Viva: Feature Access Management will support the AI admin role
Category:Microsoft Viva Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365)
Nummer:MC1005508
Status:stayInformed

Coming soon for Microsoft Viva: Feature Access Management for Copilot features will support the AI administrator role. As communicated in MC985479 Microsoft 365 admin center: AI administrator role authorization to manage Copilot settings (published January 22, 2025), the AI administrator role is a newly introduced role for AI and Microsoft 365 Copilot administration that enables admins to manage Microsoft Copilot efficiently without requiring extensive Global admin permissions.

[When this will happen:]

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out mid-February 2025 and expect to complete by late February 2025.

[How this will affect your organization:]

Feature Access Management allows authorized admins to create access policies, enabling them to tailor the deployment of certain Viva features based on local and regulatory requirements. After this rollout, Copilot features in Viva with existing Feature Access Management controls can also be managed by AI admins. Also, all future Copilot features will have AI admin access by default. Admins can manage Copilot feature controls through the Feature Access Management in the Viva admin center, the dedicated Copilot settings page in the Microsoft 365 admin center, or with Microsoft PowerShell.

Please see below for a complete list of Viva Copilot features that AI administrators can now manage through access policies:

  • Copilot in Microsoft Viva Engage
  • Copilot in Microsoft Viva Goals
  • Copilot Dashboard
  • Copilot Dashboard Auto Enablement
  • Copilot Dashboard Delegation
  • Copilot Assisted Value
  • Copilot in Microsoft Viva Insights

Note: Copilot in Microsoft Viva Glint is currently not managed by Feature Access Management and is in transition to be supported, as communicated in MC1004409 Microsoft Viva Glint: Use Feature Access Management in Viva for Microsoft 365 Copilot in Glint (published February 12, 2025). After this transition is complete, AI administrators will have access to manage this feature as well.

Admins with the AI administrator role will be able to manage access policies for all Copilot-related features in Viva. This includes both the current Copilot features (listed above) and any future Copilot features that become available in Feature Access Management in Viva.

Admins in other roles (such as Global admins) who already have management access to these feature controls will continue to retain their access.

This feature update will be available by default.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

This rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before or after the rollout. Review your current configuration to determine the impact for your organization. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation.

Copilot Studio – Removal of the ‘New Analytics’ toggle on the Analytics page in Custom copilot agents
Category:Power Platform
Nummer:MC1008779
Status:stayInformed
On February 20, 2025, the ‘New Analytics’ toggle on Analytics page for custom copilot agents will be removed and the new analytics page in Copilot Studio will be the default experience for users.

The new analytics page that was introduced in November 2024 includes key improvements such as new metrics and analytics for actions and knowledge sources, improved agent performance, and a modern experience. In addition, the new analytics page offers full geographic support and will be available across all regions.

How does this affect me?
Following this change, users will no longer have the option to revert to the traditional analytics experience.

Please note, Classic copilot customers will not be affected by this change and will continue to have access to the traditional analytics page only.

What action do I need to take?
This message is for awareness and no action is required. For more information on the new analytics page, please refer to Review and improve agent effectiveness in Copilot Studio.

For customers that are on the legacy ‘billed session’ license model and wish to access the billing page using the traditional analytics page, contact Microsoft Support to get the toggle back.
60-day reminder: Deprecation of WSUS driver synchronization
Category:Windows
Nummer:MC1009583
Status:stayInformed
If you’re using driver synchronization updates via Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), prepare for change. This service is scheduled for deprecation on April 18, 2025. For on-premises contexts, drivers will be available on the Microsoft Update catalog, but you won’t be able to import them into WSUS. You’ll need to use any of the available alternative solutions, such as Device Driver Packages, or transition to cloud-based driver services for your organization, such as Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopatch. Read the original announcement, including links to alternatives, at Deprecation of WSUS driver synchronization.

When will this happen:
  • June 28, 2024: The deprecation plan was announced for WSUS driver synchronization.
  • April 18, 2025: The next stage of the deprecation begins. You’ll no longer be able to import drivers into WSUS from the Microsoft Update catalog.
Cloud-based driver services are available to you today through Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopatch.

How this will affect your organization:
If you use WSUS to synchronize driver updates, consider transitioning to cloud-based driver services. Starting on April 18, 2025, you’ll be able to use other means, such as Device Driver Packages, to import updates from the Microsoft Update catalog.

What you need to do to prepare:
Read Additional information below to start transitioning to one of the alternatives to WSUS driver synchronization.

Updated February 18, 2025: We have updated the content. Thank you for your patience.

Dynamic watermarking is a new sensitivity label setting that will add watermark text containing the consuming user’s information onto content in files created in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This setting is supported for labels with admin-defined protection. Sensitivity labels from Microsoft Purview Information Protection help you classify and protect your organization’s data.
