(Updated) Microsoft Teams: Facilitator agent real-time notes in meetings
Category:Microsoft Teams Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365)
Nummer:MC1017117
Status:planForChange

Updated March 19, 2025: We have updated the content. Thank you for your patience

Coming soon to Microsoft Teams: The Facilitator agent can take real-time notes during your Teams meetings, allowing everyone to co-author and collaborate seamlessly. This frees everyone up to focus and engage deeply in meetings, while also helping drive alignment before the meeting ends.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 478611.

We introduced the Targeted Release preview of this feature in MC937709 (Updated) Facilitator in Teams Meetings and Chats (published and updated November 2024).

This message applies to Teams for Windows desktop, Teams for Mac desktop, Teams for the web, and Teams for iOS/Android.

A Microsoft 365 Copilot license is required to use this feature.

[When this will happen:]

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early April 2025 and expect to complete by late April 2025.

[How this will affect your organization:]

After this rollout, as an admin, you control whether Facilitator will be available to your entire organization or to a certain group of users. The Facilitator app will be on by default unless all apps are blocked by your organization. For use in meetings, Facilitator will be off by default, and licensed users will have the option to enable. Learn more: Set up Facilitator in Microsoft Teams for collaborative AI notes – Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

Facilitator and Microsoft 365 are built on Microsoft’s comprehensive approach to security, compliance, and privacy. As a part of the security promise, you can discover, protect, and govern AI interactions with Facilitator through Microsoft Purview. Microsoft Purview Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) for AI helps IT and security teams proactively discover and manage data risks. Use DSPM for AI in conjunction with other Microsoft Purview capabilities such as Audit, eDiscovery, and Data Lifecycle Management to ensure data security and compliance for your organization. Learn more about Microsoft Purview here: Microsoft Purview data security and compliance protections for Microsoft 365 Copilot and other generative AI apps | Microsoft Learn.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

This rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before the rollout. Review your current configuration to determine the impact for your organization. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation.

Known Limitations

Sensitivity labels applied to the meeting will not automatically be applied to the meeting notes file. For example, if an organizer marks a meeting as highly confidential and turns on AI-generated notes, those notes will not be marked as highly confidential. The suggested workaround is to not use Facilitator in meetings where sensitive information will be discussed. This limitation will be documented in admin and end user documentation at release. Microsoft is actively working on meeting sensitivity label inheritance to notes and will provide more updates as they are available.

Microsoft 365 apps: We will prompt users to back up their files in Microsoft OneDrive
Category:OneDrive for Business Microsoft 365 apps
Nummer:MC1024398
Status:stayInformed

Updated March 19, 2025: We have updated the content. Thank you for your patience.

Coming soon: Eligible users will be prompted in the Message Bar below the toolbar in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows desktops to enroll in OneDrive Known Folder Move (KFM). Users will be able to select the folders to back up in Microsoft OneDrive.

[When this will happen:]

Public Preview: We will begin rolling out mid-March 2025 and expect to complete by early April 2025.

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early April 2025 and expect to complete by early May 2025.

[How this will affect your organization:]

If your organization still has users who are not enrolled in KFM, the message (“BACK UP THIS DOCUMENT: Share and work with others in this and other files using OneDrive”) will encourage them to do it while using familiar desktop apps. After users select the Open OneDrive button, they can select the folders they want to back up in OneDrive:

user message

When users are enrolled in KFM, the files in their enrolled folder benefit from the advantages of cloud files:

  • Copilot support: Files are Copilot-enabled, making it simple and intuitive to access and leverage Copilot.
  • Easy collaboration: Cloud files enable sharing, commenting, and easy collaboration, with AutoSave ensuring changes are frequently and consistently saved.
  • Access from anywhere: Cloud files can be accessed from Windows, Mac, the web, iOS, and Android with synchronized changes.
  • Increased security and compliance: Enterprises can increase security and compliance, because all cloud files are subject to default classification, labeling, and protection (CLP) policies and auto-labeling.
  • Backup: Protection from data loss due to device failure.
  • Access to cloud-specific features like AutoSave and Version History

After enrolling, users can access their files in the known folders in File Explorer or OneDrive.

No action required. The feature will be enabled automatically for eligible users. If KFM is blocked in your organization, the message will not be displayed.

If an organization has blocked KFM, we will honor that and not display the message to the organization’s users.

This Message Bar will not appear if:

  • The user is already enrolled in KFM
  • The existing GPO to block KFM Wizard (Prevent users from moving their Windows known folders to OneDrive) is enabled and deployed.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

This rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before the rollout. Review your current configuration and notify users about the change, explaining the benefits of OneDrive and the sync process. Consider updating any relevant documentation.

Category:Microsoft 365 apps
Nummer:MC1035701
Status:planForChange

As we continue to enhance OneNote with a unified and modern experience, we want to remind you that OneNote for Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025. To avoid disruptions, we strongly urge your organization to fully transition to OneNote on Windows (OneNote M365) and uninstall the legacy application as soon as possible. • Improved Performance & Support: The legacy version no longer receives updates or bug fixes, leading to potential performance issues and reduced functionality.
  • Faster Sync & Collaboration: Starting June 2025, users of OneNote for Windows 10 will experience slower sync performance, impacting real-time collaboration and multi-device access.
  • Uninterrupted OneNote Experience: Beginning July 2025, users of OneNote for Windows 10 will see in-app banners prompting them to switch to OneNote (M365), which could impact their workflows.

Microsoft Teams: Control when shared content is visible to attendees in “Manage what attendees see”
Category:Microsoft Teams
Nummer:MC1035709
Status:planForChange

The “Manage what attendees see” feature in Microsoft Teams helps organizers deliver polished events more easily by simplifying the attendee view and keeping the focus on participants who have been brought on screen. We’re introducing a new enhancement that gives organizers and presenters even more control over when shared content becomes visible to attendees.

Currently, when a presenter shares content, it is automatically displayed for attendees. With this update, shared content will first appear in the Manage screen’s left panel alongside other presenters. An organizer or presenter must manually bring it on screen, providing greater control over the attendee experience and preventing unintended interruptions.

Once shared content is brought on screen, the presenter sharing it will now see their content displayed instead of a text message indicating they are sharing.

Additionally, organizers and presenters joining from mobile will only see participants or content that has been brought on screen. Previously, users would see all organizers and presenters on their mobile devices.

Limitations:

  • Users joining through older Teams versions will continue to see the existing behavior, where shared content is automatically brought on screen.
  • PowerPoint Live will automatically be brought on screen and will not appear in the Manage screen panel.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 483486.

[When this will happen:]

Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out early April 2025 and expect to complete by mid-April 2025.

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out mid-April 2025 and expect to complete by late April 2025.

[How this will affect your organization:]

Any new meetings or events created or updated after mid-April 2025 will receive the new improvements to the “Manage what attendees see” feature by default.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

This rollout will happen automatically by the specified dates with no admin action required before the rollout. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate.

We recommend you review Manage what attendees see in Teams meetings for a comprehensive overview of the feature and conduct a test session with the feature turned on to get acquainted with the new controls.

(Updated) Device Management Changes for Microsoft Teams Android Devices (Intune AOSP migration)
Category:Microsoft Intune Microsoft Teams
Nummer:MC665936
Status:stayInformed

Updated March 19, 2025: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

Earlier this year, the new Microsoft device ecosystem platform built on the Android Open-Source Project (AOSP) was announced delivering state-of-the art security, reliability, and manageability with Microsoft Intune. Microsoft Teams Android devices will be migrating to this platform. The first step in the migration is a firmware update to Microsoft Teams Android devices in 2024. The firmware update will move devices from Android device administrator to Android AOSP management.

[When this will happen:]

A Preview program for select Microsoft Teams Android devices is targeted for Q2 of calendar year 2024. General release of the firmware update with the Android AOSP management stack will happen starting in Q4 of calendar year 2024 throughout Q1 of calendar year 2025 for all eligible Microsoft Teams Android devices.

Eligible Microsoft Teams Android devices will initially receive a manual firmware update in Teams Admin Center so IT admins can manually verify the migration on their own schedule on select devices of their choosing.

Eventually, the firmware update for migration will be scheduled as an automatic firmware update in Teams Admin Center. This automatic firmware update can be deferred for up to 60 days from first availability based upon the admin configured stages in Teams Admin Center.

[How this will affect your organization:]

The firmware upgrade, including the support for Intune management of Android (AOSP) devices must be accepted. It can be deferred for up to 60 days after it is first available. This can be done in the same way as other firmware upgrades in Teams Admin Center.

Devices will continue to remain signed in after the firmware upgrade.

Certain legacy devices will not receive the firmware upgrade for Android (AOSP) management in Intune. These devices will continue using Device Administrator.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

Policies will not be migrated automatically between Android device administrator and Android (AOSP) platforms. IT admins will need to create the appropriate new policies under the Intune Android (AOSP) platform to support their Microsoft Teams Android Devices.

This will need to be done before taking the firmware update for a successful migration.

More details on enabling support and creating enrollment profiles and policies for Intune AOSP can be found here: Moving Teams Android Devices to AOSP Device Management | Microsoft Community Hub
