Category:SharePoint Online Microsoft OneDrive Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365)
Nummer:MC1182707
Status:stayInformed

Updated November 21, 2025: We will not be rolling out this feature to GCC, GCCH and DoD customers at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

[Introduction]

We’ve added a new Copilot button that gives users a quick and visible entry point to Copilot directly within the file previewer in OneDrive and SharePoint. This button appears near the bottom-right corner of the file previewer (instead of in the command bar) and surfaces contextual prompts for Copilot-supported file types. It also provides access to the Copilot chat. This feature will be available to users with a paid Copilot license

This message is associated with Roadmap ID 513432.

Product transitions to the cloud.microsoft domain – November 2025
Category:Microsoft 365 suite
Nummer:MC1188995
Status:planForChange

[Introduction]

The cloud.microsoft domain was provisioned in early 2023 to provide a unified, trusted, and dedicated DNS domain space to host Microsoft’s first-party authenticated SaaS products and experiences. This post is to inform you that the following Microsoft products and scenarios are now available at the cloud.microsoft domain, in parallel with the previous domains:

  • Microsoft Outlook (https://outlook.cloud.microsoft/)
  • Microsoft To Do (https://todo.cloud.microsoft/)

[When this will happen]

  • The services listed above are already available on cloud.microsoft, in parallel with their previous domains.
  • Outlook is currently rolling out under Targeted Release and will expand to Standard Release in the coming months.
  • Users will begin seeing Outlook redirect from its old domains to outlook.cloud.microsoft as part of this change.

[How this affects your organization]

Who is affected:

  • All users accessing Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft To Do.
  • Admins managing organizational URLs, Teams apps, and network configurations.

What will happen:

  • The cloud.microsoft domain has been a part of standard Microsoft network guidance on domains and service endpoints since April 2023. If you are currently following this guidance, this change should not impact users in your organization using the above applications under the new domain.
  • Users will be redirected to applications under cloud.microsoft domains gradually and automatically.
  • No specific user action is required.
  • Links to the previous domains are backwards compatible and continue to be supported.
  • Users may notice that the new application domains are lacking the “.com” extension. This is by design, as “.microsoft” is Microsoft’s own top-level domain – and this exclusivity allows for additional security and protection against spoofing.

Microsoft Teams: Shared call history in Queues app
Category:Microsoft Teams
Nummer:MC1188999
Status:planForChange

[Introduction]

We’re introducing shared call history in the Microsoft Teams Queues app. This feature provides queue members with a unified view of all call events—missed, incoming, and outgoing—within a call queue. By enabling shared history, teams can access consistent, up-to-date information, follow up efficiently, and improve operational responsiveness.

user settings

This message is associated with Roadmap ID 530579 and applies to Teams for Windows desktop and Teams for Mac desktop.

[When this will happen:]
  • Targeted Release: Rolling out early January 2026, expected completion by mid-January 2026.
  • General Availability (Worldwide): Rolling out mid-January 2026, expected completion by early February 2026.
[How this affects your organization:]

Who is affected:

  • Organizations using Microsoft Teams Queues app on desktop, web, and Mac.
  • Users with appropriate permissions and a Teams Premium license.

What will happen:

  • Queue members will be able to view shared call history for all missed, incoming, and outgoing calls.
  • Feature is disabled by default; admins must enable it in Teams Admin Center (TAC).
  • Admins can grant shared call history access to all queue members or restrict access to authorized users only.
  • Known limitation: Tenant migration is not supported for Queues call history. If your organization moves to a new region, existing history will not transfer; a new history will begin. Support for migration will be added in a future update.
[What you can do to prepare:]

  • Enable shared call history in Teams Admin Center.
  • Configure permissions for queue members or authorized users.
  • Communicate this change to your helpdesk and affected users.
  • Update internal documentation to reflect this feature.

Microsoft 365 Copilot: “Hey Copilot” to start voice in Copilot on Windows devices
Category:Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365)
Nummer:MC1189003
Status:stayInformed

Hey Copilot” to start voice in Copilot on Windows devices

[Introduction]

Starting late November 2025, we’re introducing a new hands-free way to activate voice in Microsoft 365 Copilot on Windows devices. Users will be able to start a voice chat with Copilot by saying “Hey Copilot”. To end the conversation, users need to press the “Dismiss/X” button in the voice chat controls. In the future, users will be able to end the chat with a voice command. This allows users to stay in the flow of work, without switching apps or windows, while getting assistance from Copilot using voice.

Important: The “Hey Copilot” feature is off by default.

Users can manually enable the feature by going to Settings > Quick view in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app and turning on the Listen for “Hey Copilot” toggle. When on, this capability operates locally on the device and only activates by “hearing” the trigger word “Hey Copilot” without recording or storing any conversation. Text transcripts from voice conversations with Copilot are stored and managed in the same way as text conversations in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app. No user or Copilot audio is stored. For more information about data retention for Copilot, see Data, Privacy, and Security for Microsoft 365 Copilot.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 497848.

[When this will happen]

Preview (Frontier): Begins rolling out at the end of November 2025.

General Availability (Worldwide): Begins rolling out in late December 2025 and expected to be generally available by late January 2026.

[How this will affect your organization]

  • Users will be able to start a voice conversation with Copilot hands free, saying “Hey Copilot” once turned on.
  • The “Hey Copilot” feature is off by default and must be turned on by users in Copilot settings.
  • When on, this capability operates locally on the device and only activates by “hearing” the trigger word “Hey Copilot” without recording or storing any conversation.
  • There is no admin control to disable this feature by an admin at a tenant or group level.
  • Voice in Microsoft 365 Copilot is currently available only for Copilot licensed users and this feature will be available only to those same users.
  • Activation respects organizational compliance boundaries and only responds when explicitly called.
  • To mute or end the conversation, the user must click to “Mute” or “Dismiss” as needed. At that point, Copilot stops listening. Copilot will end the session after 60 seconds of inactivity, giving users a notice after the first 30 seconds.
  • The feature will not activate if audio from another app is on or when the user’s device is locked.
  • This feature is supported in English only, but once activated, users can have conversation in any language Copilot that supports.

[What you need to do to prepare]

This feature will roll out default off but users will be prompted in product to try this feature by turning it on in the Copilot settings.

To enable, users need to go to Microsoft 365 Copilot app on Windows devices and enable it in settings and ensure that microphone permissions and device settings are compatible with voice activation

  • Review how privacy and security of organizational data is protected when using this feature: Data, Privacy, and Security for Microsoft 365 Copilot
  • Communicate the availability and benefits of this feature to your users.
  • Remind users to ensure that microphone permissions and device settings are compatible with voice activation.
