Thank you for your patience. We are excited to announce that Phase 2 of app centric management roll out is scheduled to complete in late June 2024 (previously May). This phase will be available to all tenants and can be initiated at the admin’s discretion. What is in phase 2?
Detailed documentation for the migration process will be available in our online documentation, which currently includes information on managing apps after ACM migration. App centric management introduces new admin settings to control who in the tenant can install Teams apps. First, admins can set a default value for new apps that are published to the Teams app store. Second, admins can manage apps for users, groups, or everyone in the organization. This feature replaces the existing app permission policies and provides admins with the ability to manage access to the app individually. The app permission policies for existing customers are migrated to maintain existing app availability in the tenant. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 151829 [When this will happen:] This feature will gradually roll out across three major phases. Phase 1 (from late November 2023 to mid-March 2024 (previously late February) affects the tenants that use only the Global app permission policy and have no custom app permission policies. The app status from the permission policy and tenant settings will be migrated to preserve the admin intent. The migration will not affect the end users and their ability to use the apps. Admins may see the Manage apps page in a read-only mode for a short time. Phase 2 (early July 2024 (previously late June)) affects the tenants that use both global and custom app permission policies. This phase will let the admin choose to migrate to app centric management by following a migration process that will change the existing app permission policies to app assignments in the new app centric model. The admins will have the choice to modify the apps that are assigned using the custom permission policies to be accessible to groups, if they want. Phase 3 (more details coming soon as a follow up MC post) applies to the tenants that skipped the migration in phase 1 or 2. These tenants will be migrated automatically in this phase. The Microsoft Exchange admin center (EAC) is launching new troubleshooting workflows to help customers resolve common issues more efficiently. [How will this affect your organization:] Admins will be able to access the new Troubleshoot option on the left navigation of the Microsoft Exchange admin center. When common issues arise, admins can run the Quick fixes workflow or Collect logs workflow to investigate. These workflows gather logs and data to provide relevant information, making troubleshooting easier. All logs and data are stored on the admin’s local machine for easy access. The Quick fixes option includes workflows to resolve known issues. Each workflow provides detailed information about the actions it performs and the specific issue it addresses. In this initial release, admins will be able to quickly reset Outlook on the web (OWA) settings for users, helping to resolve various login and calendar-related issues. The Collect logs workflows can be used to diagnose issues with resource mailboxes functioning in unexpected ways or meetings updating incorrectly for a mailbox. Each workflow executes multiple cmdlets and provides aggregated information, which is then downloaded to the admin’s local machine as logs. Microsoft Outlook: Open attachments in desktop apps from the new Outlook for WindowsCategory:Microsoft 365 appsNummer:MC844915Status:stayInformed | In new Outlook for Windows, users will be able to open attachments of all types in their preferred desktop apps by double-clicking on them. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 401123. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late August 2024 and expect to complete by late September 2024. General Availability (GCC): We will begin rolling out late September 2024 and expect to complete by mid-October 2024. [How this will affect your organization:] This feature is designed to streamline the process of opening attachments in desktop apps by reducing the number of steps, making it more efficient in your daily workflow. What’s new Previously, double-clicking on an attachment in new Outlook for Windows would open a preview of the file within Outlook. This meant that if users wanted to open the file in a desktop app, they would first have to save the file locally. Now, when a user double-clicks on an attachment, the file will open in the desktop app specified as the default app to open that file type in the user’s operating system, just like in Outlook Desktop and Windows Mail apps. Single-clicking on an attachment will continue to open a preview of the file within Outlook. It’s important to note that, for security reasons, users will see a confirmation dialog every time they open an attachment of a certain file type unless they choose to dismiss it permanently. To do so, they must uncheck the “Always ask before opening this type of file” checkbox for each file type (.pdf, .docx, .xlsx, jpeg, etc.).

When a new version of iOS is released, Outlook’s Operating System requirement becomes the two most recent versions: the current version and the previous version of iOS, iPadOS and watchOS. In addition, once iOS 18 is released to GA, the system requirements for Outlook for iOS will be updated to reflect support for iOS 18. Microsoft will update the minimum system requirements for Outlook for iOS app from iOS 16 to iOS 17. Microsoft will retire support for iPadOS 16 and watchOS 9. iPadOS 17 & 18, watchOS 10 & 11 will be the only supported versions for iPad and Apple Watch. Admin policy to migrate users from classic Outlook to new Outlook for WindowsCategory:Microsoft 365 appsNummer:MC854648Status:stayInformed | Microsoft is releasing a new Admin-Controlled Migration to New Outlook policy that will allow IT admins to migrate users from classic Outlook for Windows to new Outlook for Windows. User experience Enabling this policy (see instructions below) switches users from classic Outlook to new Outlook in three steps. Each step runs on a new app session (app launch). Step 1: Users see a teaching callout encouraging them to try the new Outlook in the first session after the migration policy is enabled.
Step 2: If users don’t switch to new Outlook in step 1, they’ll see this Business bar message in the next session: “Your organization recommends using the new Outlook for Windows. If you skip this now, you’ll be taken to the new experience the next time you start Outlook.” Step 3: Users see a blocking prompt encouraging them to switch to new Outlook. Users will be able to toggle back to classic Outlook for Windows any time.
Pre-requisite to enabling the policy The new Outlook toggle should be available to users; users will not see the migration experience if the new Outlook toggle is hidden via group policy (GPO) or Windows Registry key. Please note that all link sharing today requires guests to accept link sharing invitations with the account that was invited. If your users want guests to access links with a different account, users should select the Anyone link sharing setting instead. How does this affect me? Previously, stub users, unlicensed, or removed Microsoft Entra group users couldn’t be deleted from a Dataverse environment. These types of users remained in a Dataverse environment with a disabled status and were unable to log into the environment. You can now delete these users with the disabled status in your environment to comply with privacy laws, regulatory requirements, and to free up storage space. What action do I need to take? When you import users from another system, these users are created as stub users with a disabled status in Dataverse. These stub users will stay in the environment with a disabled status, or they can now be deleted. For more information, review Delete stub users from an environment. If an active user loses their Power Platform license, or if a user is moved out of the environment’s Microsoft Entra group, they are set to a disabled status.
