(Updated) Microsoft OneDrive: Bulk data export for OneDrive Sync admin reportsCategory:OneDrive for BusinessNummer:MC844917Status:stayInformed | Updated December 12, 2024: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience. A new feature for Microsoft OneDrive enables bulk export of device status, including username, sync app version, known folders, last sync date, and sync errors.
This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 88870. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early December 2024 and expect to complete by late March 2025 (previously January). [How this will affect your organization:] You will be able to export OneDrive sync report data through Microsoft Graph Data Connect. The data is transferred to a Microsoft Azure account owned by the tenant, where you can use tools like Azure Synapse and Power BI to transform this into insightful reports and dashboards. [What you need to do to prepare:] Make sure that OneDrive sync reports are enabled on your organization’s devices so that the data is available for export. |

Change in behavior of the HighCompleteness parameter in the Search-UnifiedAuditLog cmdletCategory:Microsoft PurviewNummer:MC955752Status:planForChange | The Search-UnifiedAuditLog cmdlet gives administrators in your organization access to critical audit log event data to gain insights and further investigate user activities. Microsoft had introduced a new HighCompleteness parameter in this cmdlet in April 2024 that allowed customers to toggle between prioritizing completeness of search results and performance. When the HighCompleteness parameter is set to true, the search query returns a more complete set of search results, but the query may take a longer time to finish. When set to false, the query runs faster but only returns a subset of results. We recommended setting the parameter to true in scenarios where a complete list of search results was required. To improve our customers’ visibility into their security logging and reduce instances of customers missing out on important audit records in their search results, we are now changing the behavior of the HighCompleteness parameter. Previously, customers could toggle the parameter between true or false. With this change, the HighCompleteness parameter will always be set to true. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC-High, DoD): Starting late January 2025, for all search queries submitted via the Search-UnifiedAuditLog cmdlet, the value of the HighCompleteness parameter will be set to true. [How this will affect your organization:] The HighCompleteness parameter in the Search-UnifiedAuditLog cmdlet will now be set to true for all queries. With this change, the cmdlet will now prioritize completeness of search results over performance. As a result, search queries may take longer to finish. [What you can do to prepare:] You could also consider using our new Audit Search Graph API for programmatic access to audit logs. This API is now Generally Available to all our Worldwide and Gov customers. Viva Engage: Designated experts in CommunitiesCategory:Microsoft VivaNummer:MC956390Status:stayInformed | We are introducing the Community Expert feature in Microsoft Viva Engage to enhance the trust and utility of knowledge in your communities. Experts will be able to endorse accurate and credible answers and be recognized as community experts with a special label next to their name. A community expert is a member of a community who is assigned or approved by a community admin to serve as a subject matter expert within a specific community. A community expert has special capabilities, such as marking the best answer, marking a verified answer (coming separately and soon after with the launch of Community Experts), and pinning posts. However, a community expert does not have the ability to manage members, assign roles, and so on like a community admin. Additionally, they are given a label strictly within that community that says “Community Expert.” Note: Community expertise is determined by community admins within your organizations, not Microsoft. Microsoft does not have the ability to define a community expert in your organization. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 408164. General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early January 2025 and expect to complete by late February 2025. [How this will affect your organization:] This will be available for all customers as part of the seeded Viva Engage experience. [What you need to do to prepare:] Tips for identifying community experts:
We will provide a blog post and documentation on how to best use this feature in the future. This rollout will happen automatically with no admin action required. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate. |
