Status:stayInformed

Updated June 18, 2026: We have updated the timeline. Thank you for your patience.

[Introduction]

Microsoft is introducing Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat within Microsoft Forms, along with a new Forms Agent integration tailored to help creators design, distribute, and analyze forms more effectively. This update streamlines form creation and insights by providing AI-driven suggestions, improvements, and analysis.

The Copilot refinement bar and Copilot insights summary on the Forms results page will be replaced by the new Copilot dynamic action button.

This message is associated with Roadmap ID 553136.

[When this will happen:]

  • General Availability (Worldwide): We’ll begin rollout mid-May 2026 (previously early May) and expect to complete by end of June 2026 (previously mid-June).

What will happen:

  • Users will find a new Copilot icon in Microsoft Forms.
  • Forms Agent and Copilot Chat will be available directly in the form-editing experience.
  • Users can perform tasks such as:
    • Getting AI‑generated suggestions to refine or improve their form or quiz.
    • Screenshot 1: Select the Copilot button to chat, get suggestions, and effortlessly improve your form

      user settings

    • Adjusting question clarity and form structure with support from Forms Agent.
    • Drafting invitation messages.
    • Analyzing survey or quiz results with AI assistance.
    • Screenshot 2: Unlock quick, actionable insights from your data, and chat to dive deeper

      user settings

Recommended:

  • Inform helpdesk staff about new AI capabilities.
  • Update internal documentation as needed.
  • Review Copilot licensing and policy settings.

Dynamics 365 Customer Service – Enable question-level weighting for quality evaluation scoring
Category:Dynamics 365 Apps
Nummer:MC1395008
Status:stayInformed
We are announcing the ability to enable question-level weighting for quality evaluation scoring in Dynamics 365 Customer Service. This feature will reach general availability on July 17, 2026.

  • Microsoft 365 admins managing Teams policies and settings

  • Admins will have a new PowerShell control to fully disable voice simulation if required for compliance or policy reasons.
  • Shimmer visual effects will now be shown only to participants who have activated Interpreter, reducing distractions for other meeting attendees.
  • Users will hear an audio notification when Interpreter is activated, confirming the feature is working.

Microsoft SharePoint Online: Retirement of Restricted SharePoint Search
Category:SharePoint Online
Nummer:MC1395311
Status:planForChange

[What and Why]

Restricted SharePoint Search (RSS) is being retired in Microsoft SharePoint Online. RSS was used to limit how SharePoint content appears in Microsoft Search and Microsoft 365 Copilot during permissions and governance reviews.

Microsoft 365 now provides more granular and scalable controls. Restricted Content Discovery (RCD) offers improved security and governance and supports Microsoft 365 Copilot scenarios. Microsoft recommends transitioning to RCD or other appropriate controls to manage content discoverability. This change simplifies content discovery management and aligns with current controls.

[Retirement Schedule]

  • July 31, 2026: New RSS enablement will be blocked.
  • July 2026 – January 2027: Retirement period.
  • January 31, 2027: RSS will be fully retired (no extensions or exceptions).
  • February 28, 2027: RSS PowerShell cmdlets will be retired.

[Impact on Your Organization]

Who is affected

  • Organizations currently using Restricted SharePoint Search (RSS) in Worldwide, GCC, GCC High and DoD
  • SharePoint and Microsoft 365 administrators managing search visibility and governance

Platforms/Services

  • SharePoint Online
  • Microsoft Search
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot

What will happen

  • New RSS enablement will be blocked after July 31, 2026.
  • RSS will stop functioning after January 31, 2027 (no extensions).
  • RSS PowerShell cmdlets will stop working after February 28, 2027.
  • Microsoft will not automatically migrate RSS configurations to Restricted Content Discovery (RCD).
  • Administrators must transition to RCD or other governance controls to manage content discoverability.
  • If no action is taken, restricted content may become discoverable after RSS retirement.

[Action Required/Recommendations]

If you are not using RSS, no action is required.

Dynamics 365 Customer Insights – Journeys – Explore and optimize journeys with Marketing Research Agent
Category:Dynamics 365 Apps
Nummer:MC1396208
Status:stayInformed
We are announcing the ability to dynamically analyze marketing execution and journey performance using natural language with the Marketing Research Agent in Dynamics 365 Customer Insights – Journeys. This feature will be available for public preview on July 1, 2026.

How does this affect me?
The Marketing Research Agent supports repeatable, predictable analysis through predefined prompts and schema intelligence, which allows it to understand tables, columns, relationships, and marketing key performance indicator (KPI) definitions. Using this analysis, the Marketing Research Agent can quickly diagnose performance issues, such as high unsubscribe rates, low Click-Through Rate, and poor completion. It can use this information to identify likely drivers for the performance issue using natural language to generate a summary of the root causes and then recommend actions to be taken.

The Marketing Research Agent can also connect your marketing performance to outcomes and Return on Investment (ROI). By utilizing data sets, such as purchases, opportunities, or downstream conversion events, it can enhance your Customer Insights – Journeys data to provide ROI analysis without the need to rebuild your reporting stack.

Dynamics 365 Customer Service – Apply governance policies to email attachments
Category:Dynamics 365 Apps
Nummer:MC1396314
Status:stayInformed
We are announcing the ability to apply governance policies to email attachments in Dynamics 365 Customer Service. This feature will reach general availability on July 3, 2026.

How does this affect me?
This feature extends Governance Agent capabilities to evaluate email attachments, closing a critical gap where sensitive or non-compliant information may exist outside the email body.

Administrators can configure policies to explicitly include attachment checks during policy setup. This allows organizations to apply governance selectively based on business needs, such as enforcing stricter controls for sensitive communications while maintaining flexibility for general scenarios. Existing policies can be updated to enable attachment analysis, while new policies can be configured to include attachments by default where required.

To ensure transparency and accountability, all attachment evaluations are logged, including details such as which attachment triggered a violation and the reason for failure. Users are provided with clear feedback when an email is blocked, helping them quickly identify and correct issues before resending. This improves user experience while maintaining strong governance controls.

In the initial release, analysis is focused on plain text content within supported document types, such as Word and PDF files. Non-text elements, including images or embedded content, are excluded in this phase to ensure predictable and efficient processing.

Microsoft Copilot Studio – Evaluate AI action outcome in workflows with confidence
Category:Microsoft Copilot (Power Platform)
Nummer:MC1396327
Status:stayInformed
We are announcing the ability to increase confidence in AI-powered workflow automations by helping teams measure, validate, and improve the AI actions that drive workflow outcomes in Microsoft Copilot Studio. This feature will reach general availability on June 30, 2026.

How does this affect me?
This feature enables you to evaluate and improve the AI actions (agent node) that shape workflow behavior and trajectory. Agent node-level evaluations in workflows help you understand whether critical AI-driven steps are working as intended before shipping, and how quality issues affect the rest of the automation. This allows you to troubleshoot faster, validate updates more confidently, and build more reliable AI-powered workflows.
