Category:Microsoft Viva
Nummer:MC790788
Status:stayInformed

Microsoft Viva: We are rolling out an update for Copilot assisted hours in the Microsoft Copilot Dashboard. For customers with a Viva or a Viva Insights subscription, the Copilot Dashboard will provide a breakdown of employees’ actions in Copilot that contribute to their company’s total Copilot assisted hours. There is no change to the existing metric calculation. Customers will have the additional ability to view the underlying details for Copilot assisted hours with this change.

[When this will happen:]

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early May 2024 and expect to complete by mid-May 2024.

[How this will affect your organization:]

This change will be defaulted on and will only impact users who have access to the Microsoft Copilot Dashboard and have Viva Insights subscription. There is no impact to admins.

Microsoft Viva: Meeting cost and quality insights will be available in Viva Insights
Category:Microsoft Viva
Nummer:MC790789
Status:stayInformed

In Microsoft Viva, we’ve added a new quality report for leaders in Viva Insights, and improved features to help all employees manage their time in meetings.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 393935

[When this will happen:]

Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out mid-May 2024 and expect to complete by late May 2024.

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late May 2024 and expect to complete by early June 2024.

[How this will affect your organization:]

  • Leaders will get a new meeting cost and quality report in the Viva Insights Teams app to help them review how much time their team spends in large and long recurring meetings.
  • Users in the Viva Insights Teams app will get an improved Meeting Review card that displays their large and long meetings, offering deeper insights into meeting quality and more comprehensive options to assess, modify, and track these meetings.
  • Users will also get nudges when they are organizing large and long recurring meetings in Outlook with recommendations for incrementally reducing the cost of a meeting.
  • The Meeting Categories and Meeting Habits cards in Viva Insights will each be streamlined into a single tab, with additional insights integrated into the new Meeting Review card.

Leadership quality report, featuring the meeting review card:

[What you need to do to prepare:]

These features are available to users with a Viva Insights premium license. Upon deployment, features will be activated by default for employees who have the Viva Insights premium license. The meeting cost and quality reports will not be distributed automatically, instead, they will be available to enabled employees through the Viva Insights Teams application.

If you prefer to disable these new features for a portion or for the entirety of your organization, a global admin or Insights admin can use Viva Insights Feature Access Management (VFAM) to manage which users have access to these features. When the feature is disabled using VFAM, leaders will not see the meeting cost and quality report, and individual users will not see cards or nudges to help manage their large and long meetings.

As a part of this rollout, Teams for Desktop and Teams for the web will stop using Microsoft Teams feedback policies and switch to Cloud Policy service for Microsoft 365.

Microsoft Teams: New file image previews in messages
Category:Microsoft Teams
Nummer:MC790792
Status:stayInformed

Coming soon in Microsoft Teams: An enhanced content consumption experience in Teams chats and channels. We are about to release a series of features that will help you to identify, consume, and act on content such as files, lists, and SharePoint pages/posts. In this first release in the series, we will roll out file image previews in chats and channels, to help users better identify a file in the conversation stream. When a file (such as a JPG or PNG image file, a Microsoft PowerPoint file, or a PDF) is attached to a message in chat or a channel, users will see a small image of the file without opening the file.

[When this will happen:]

Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out early June 2024 and expect to complete by early June 2024.

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out mid-June 2024 and expect to complete by late June 2024.

General Availability (GCC): We will begin rolling out late June 2024 and expect to complete by early July 2024.

General Availability (GCC High): We will begin rolling out early July 2024 and expect to complete by late July 2024.

General Availability (DoD, USSec, and USNat): We will begin rolling out late July 2024 and expect to complete by late July 2024.

[How this will affect your organization:]

Image preview benefits

  • Quickly scan for and find the file you need
  • Preview part of the file content before opening it
  • Save time and bandwidth by avoiding unnecessary file downloads and file opens

To use the new file image previews, users will upload or share a file in a chat or a channel, and then see an image preview of the file content (and its metadata) in the message. Users can also select the image preview to open the file.

When a message has multiple images attached, users will be able to select one image, and then click the right arrow to page between the other attached images.

If the recipient does not have the access to the file or if the file is marked Confidential, image previews will not be shown.

[How this will affect your organization:]

After this rollout:

  • A team owner will be able to recommend channels for team members to join. This functionality replaces Show for members.
  • When joining a new team, team members will see only the General channel. On the team onboarding page, additional channels may be tagged as Recommended by the team owner. Members can review channel details and opt into channels of interest. This rollout is designed to help team members join the most relevant channels, for a more streamlined experience in Teams.

The view from the Activity stream: A team owner adds a user to team (called Cross team collaboration) and recommends specific channels (Feature crew, General) for the user to show in the teams and channels list:

The view from the teams and channels list: General is the only channel shown when a team owner adds a user to team (called Cross team collaboration) and recommends additional channels (Feature crew, General) for the user to show in the teams and channels list:
