Overall, you can expect an increase in active users of less than 2% on average. However, please note that your tenant may experience a higher increase depending on specific usage patterns and needs. The specific usage data for Business Chat (web) is expected to be available by November 2024. A Microsoft 365 Copilot license is required to use this feature. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 415468. [When this will happen: General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late October 2024 and expect to complete by late October 2024. This includes the ability to hide the From Microsoft font packages from Change the look, the ability to apply a font package in your site templates, and updated availability for the From Microsoft font packages. [When this will happen:] Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out mid-October 2024 and expect to complete by early November 2024 General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, DoD): We will begin rolling out early November 2024 and expect to complete by early December 2024. [How this will affect your organization:] This rollout will include new Microsoft PowerShell commands that will allow you to get information about the From Microsoft font packages and the ability to hide these font packages if desired. Eligible users can now signup for Teams Exploratory on MOBILECategory:Microsoft TeamsNummer:MC915487Status:planForChange | Microsoft Teams Exploratory Trial will be available to eligible users on mobile devices The Teams Exploratory trial license allows users in your organization to explore the full features of Microsoft Teams for free for up to [6 months], if they are eligible. This update brings mobile experience at par with Desktop wherein users trying to sign up for Exploratory on mobile devices will not receive errors. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early/mid-November 2024 and expect to complete by mid/late November 2024. [How this will affect your organization:] With this change, users on mobile devices can sign-up for the Microsoft Teams Exploratory trial license. Once the eligible users sign into Teams on the iOS or Android app, we will prompt them to try out Teams for free. Users will be presented with the terms and conditions. New Microsoft Outlook for Windows: Add Microsoft accounts with non-Microsoft email addressesCategory:Microsoft 365 appsNummer:MC915492Status:planForChange | Coming soon: Support for users to add a new personal Microsoft account type in new Microsoft Outlook for Windows. Adding a personal Microsoft account to Outlook is useful if that personal Microsoft account is linked to Microsoft subscriptions such as Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Copilot Pro. For instance, a user might purchase a subscription for Microsoft 365 Personal with a Microsoft account such as [email protected]. Before this rollout, new Outlook for Windows would not support adding this personal Microsoft account to Outlook and the user could not access any subscriptions linked to those accounts. After this rollout, users will be able to enjoy the benefits of their personal Microsoft 365 or Copilot Pro subscription in Outlook. [When this will happen:] Targeted Release for new Outlook for Windows users with a primary work or school account: We will begin rolling out mid-November 2024 and expect to complete in mid-December 2024. General Availability (Worldwide) for new Outlook for Windows users with a primary work or school account: We will begin rolling out mid-December 2024 and expect to complete in mid-January 2025. A primary email account is the first account listed at Accounts > Your accounts settings page. [How this will affect your organization:] Before this rollout: Outlook supports connecting to personal email accounts like Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo and more, so users can access email from those accounts in Outlook . After this rollout, users will be able to add a new personal Microsoft account that does not use a Microsoft email address (such as outlook.com, hotmail.com, or live.com) at Settings > Accounts > Your accounts > Additional Microsoft accounts for the purpose of accessing any subscriptions linked to that personal Microsoft account. SharePoint list and library rules will send from the [email protected] email addressCategory:SharePoint OnlineNummer:MC915497Status:stayInformed | We’re making a change to how emails are sent for customers that use list or document library rules, which can be created from the Automate dropdown. Users can specify an automated email based on when a change occurs, a new file or item is added, a file or item is deleted, and file or item metadata conditions. To align system generated emails with best practices, these emails will now come from the [email protected] email address with the display name “SharePoint Online”.
Previously, these emails would be sent on behalf of the user that made a file or item update. [When will this happen:] Available now [How this will affect your organization:] Your users may notice the change in email address and display name for certain business processes and workflows that rely on automated emails from SharePoint list or document libraries. [What you need to do to prepare:] No action is required, existing rules will continue to operate. If you have any email policies or workflows based on a specific sender, those will need to include the [email protected] address.
