[How this will affect your organization:] With this new feature, an admin can configure whether they want to expire insider risk levels in adaptive protection when a user’s alert is dismissed, or their case is closed. Today, this expiration happens automatically. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy. [What you need to do to prepare:] With this update, admins will see a new option in the Risk levels tab for adaptive protection called Risk level expiration options. This setting is enabled by default, and admins can uncheck this box if they would prefer that risk levels do not expire even when a user’s alert is dismissed or their case is closed. These changes are designed to enhance the user experience without causing any disruptions. We will be proceeding with the minor design updates on the portal (fonts, colors, controls and more). These changes are to align with Purview branding and should not disrupt users. Microsoft Intune ending support for Android device administrator on devices with GMS accessCategory:Microsoft IntuneNummer:MC902778Status:planForChange | Updated October 22, 2024: We have updated the content. As mentioned in MC726113/MC674247, Google has deprecated Android device administrator management, continues to remove management capabilities, and no longer provides fixes or improvements. Due to these changes, Intune will be ending support for Android device administrator management on devices with access to Google Mobile Services (GMS) beginning December 31, 2024. Until that time, we will support device administrator management on devices running Android 14 and earlier. For more details, read the blog: https://aka.ms/Intune-Android-DA-blog. [How this will affect your organization:] After Intune ends support for Android device administrator, devices with access to GMS will be impacted in the following ways:

The reverse scenario has the same problem. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out mid-October 2024 and expect to complete by late October 2024. General Availability (GCC): We will begin rolling out mid-October 2024 and expect to complete by late October 2024. [How this affects your organization:] We have addressed this issue so that when the user is on a call in SfB and answers a call in Microsoft Teams the SfB call will go on hold. Similarly, if they are on a call in Teams and answer a call in SfB the Teams call will go on hold. The user must be using the new Microsoft Teams client version 24261.1100.3128.2662 or greater.

Copilot agents in SharePoint rolling to Targeted ReleaseCategory:Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365)Nummer:MC916296Status:planForChange | We shared in https://aka.ms/sharepoint/Copilotagents last month that SharePoint would have a new capability for creating and using Copilot agents. Users with M365 Copilot licenses will see a new Copilot action in the Suite Navigation bar where they will see the built-in Copilot scoped to the site they are on. They will also see entry points from the New menu on home and in their document libraries to create Copilot agents. These capabilities are available only if they already have create and edit permissions on the site or document library. They can also share a link to the Copilot agent with other users, and those users (with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license) will be able to chat with it. This release does not include interacting with the Copilot agent in a Teams chat or meeting chat. It does not include the extension to Copilot Studio for advanced customizations or the Site owner abilities to approve agents and set a default agent for a specific site. These capabilities will be available later this year.

Outlook for iOS to match Android Authenticator Auto Open BehaviorCategory:Microsoft 365 appsNummer:MC916297Status:planForChange | We’re changing the way Outlook for iOS authenticates users with the Authenticator mobile app integration to match Outlook for Android. Currently in Outlook for iOS users are required to tap a button called “Open Authenticator” to initiate the Authenticator app authentication flow. In Outlook for Android this flow opens automatically without requiring the user to tap a button. We will now be matching that behavior in iOS so the user no longer has to tap the “Open Authenticator” button. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, DoD) We will begin rolling out this change in late November 2024 and expect to complete by mid-December 2024. [How this will affect your organization:] You are receiving this message because our reporting indicates your organization may be using Outlook for iOS. iOS Build now included in ActiveSyncDeviceAccess rule for Outlook on iOSCategory:Microsoft 365 appsNummer:MC916298Status:stayInformed | We’re making some changes to the ActiveSyncDeviceAccess rule DeviceOS parameters for Outlook on iOS. Starting in mid-November, we will start supporting the operating system build number in addition to the operating system version number. [When this will happen:] General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, DoD) We will roll out this change in mid-November 2024 [How this will affect your organization:] You are receiving this message because users in your organization may be subject to ActiveSyncDeviceAccess rules on their Exchange mailbox. Administrations will now be able to specify the iOS operating system build number with the DeviceOS parameter as “iOS X.X.X XXXXX” like “iOS 17.5.1 21F09”, when this change is implemented. Administrations who have pre-existing ActiveSyncDeviceAccess rules will not be affected by this change. Windows 11, version 24H2 improved update fundamentalsCategory:WindowsNummer:MC916857Status:stayInformed | With Windows 11, version 24H2, you get reduced installation time, restart time, and central processing unit (CPU) usage for Windows monthly updates. Additionally, feature updates now have smaller download sizes. That’s due to the extension of conditional downloads to Microsoft Edge. Learn about the details behind these improvements in a new article, Windows 11, version 24H2 improved update fundamentals. When will this happen: These improvements are already available to you with Windows 11, version 24H2. The conditional download of many Microsoft-developed apps during feature updates has been first available in Windows 11, version 22H2. The Microsoft Edge app is included in conditional download with the latest Windows release. How this will affect your organization: Devices that are on Windows 11, version 24H2 are likely to update faster and use less space and resources during monthly and feature updates. If these devices use Microsoft Edge, it will now conditionally download during feature updates. This means that if the device already has the latest version of the app, it will not be downloaded as part of the feature update, saving you download time. What you need to do to prepare: No action is needed if you’re already on Windows 11, version 24H2.
